MARK 6 Lottery

Design Brief

Mark 6 is Hong Kong’s biggest lottery, and they were seeking a fresh visual direction for their festival lottery campaign. The client requested that the Mark 6 lottery ball be the main visual element of the poster, presented in a cartoon or illustration style instead of photography, to create a more playful and engaging festival atmosphere.​

Key Visual Design

Using the Mid-Autumn Festival and Halloween as examples, I designed two template versions—A and B—each featuring the Mark 6 ball as the central element. The illustrations integrate festive motifs to match each holiday while keeping the lottery ball as the hero of the design.

Mid Autumn Festival â€‹â€‹

For this digital key visual, both versions use a giant Mark 6 ball to represent the full moon.

​

Design A – Mystery Theme: The moon lands in a bamboo forest under a purple and gold color scheme. I added silhouettes of a rabbit and bird, symbolizing the festival while creating a mysterious atmosphere.​

​

Design B – Fairy Tale Theme: The moon floats in the night sky with Chang’e, set in a blue and purple palette. A rabbit stands on a floating mooncake, adding a whimsical, storybook feel.

Mark 6 Ball​​

​

The Mark 6 ball is the most recognizable symbol of Hong Kong’s biggest lottery, instantly connecting audiences to the game.

 

For this campaign, the client emphasized that the ball must remain the focal point of all visuals to ensure immediate brand recognition and association with the excitement of winning.

 

By integrating the ball into each festive design concept, the campaign maintains strong brand identity while celebrating seasonal themes.

Halloween​

​

Both Halloween designs feature a Mark 6 ball inside a pot, representing a bowl of Halloween candy.

 

Design A – Horror Movie Theme: Set in an abandoned house with an orange and brown palette, this version creates a cinematic horror vibe. While visually striking, it draws less attention to the Mark 6 ball as the focal point.

 

Design B – Dark Night & Black Cat Theme: Using a dark background with orange highlights, this design pops the prize amount and the snowball while keeping the Mark 6 ball as the central focus, delivering stronger brand emphasis.

General Lottery Designs​

​

Both general lottery visuals highlight the Mark 6 ball as the main focus.

​

Design A – Red Theme: A bold red background with a 3D internet-style ball surrounded by multiple Mark 6 balls, emphasizing energy and excitement.

​

Design B – Gold Theme: A rich gold background with a smaller central Mark 6 ball and many floating balls, drawing attention to the prize amount and number.
